Stage and Building Information

Loading Door

  • Located off of Water St. (1 block east of George)
  • Semi trucks CANNOT unload directly (doors are 25’ from street & 15’ from sidewalk)
  • Direct to stage
  • 18” above pavement
  • 7’10” high and 7’9” wide – no centre post
  • 16” deep from door face to open stage

Stage Dimensions

  • Proscenium opening 38’w by 20-24’ (variable)
  • Depth – 35’9 to upstage wall
    •   – 30’ to cyc
  • Wings -10’ (SL has a 4’3” wide staircase on the upstage half and a 6’ wide room at the downstage half of the wing)
  • Orchestra Pit Cover extends 6’ downstage of the “plaster line” for the entire width of the stage
  • 1 staircase on each side of the stage to the auditorium floor (permanent)
  • Proscenium walls have removable panels to access the box booms or to be used as additional performance space

Rigging

  • There is NO fly tower, all pipes are dead hung and cannot be moved.
  • There are 4 catwalks (running US / DS) and additional movable grid pipes to provide support for dead hung rigging or spot lines (please send any rigging inquiries to the Technical Director)
  • Any rigging or hanging must be done from a lift and takes a minimum of two people.  The Technical Director is the only person authorized to use the lift.  (Some exceptions can be made with prior approval from the Technical Director)

Orchestra Pit

  • 38’ wide, 12’ deep (at centre)
  • Can seat approximately 25 musicians
  • Centre section of the pit can be removed and replaced with a metal screen with a cut out for the conductor (call Showplace for details)
  • Pit is usually covered. A minimum of 1 hour & 2 people is required to remove or reinstall the centre section of the pit cover.

Dressing Rooms

  • Green Room
  • Chorus Room with three makeup stations (3 persons per)
  • “Star” dressing room with shower and direct access to private washroom
  • Small dressing room with makeup station (3 persons)

FOH Verona console can do up to 4 monitor mixes maximum, if you require more mixes, a separate onstage monitor console with technician is required.
