POPULAR DISSENT

Presented in partnership with Showplace Performance Centre and sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra introduces its first Music Formations event, “Popular Dissent” featuring Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8, a very personal work about living under a totalitarian regime, complemented by excerpts from music of emotion and struggle by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Queen and David Bowie, Radiohead, and Charles Albert Tindley, performed by the PSO String Quartet. Music Formations are intimate, small-format, general admission concerts that offer a 45-minute taste of classical music through a creative and modern program, including a casual reception with refreshments.
